“What’s wrong with tattoos? For my body I own.” The logic seems irrefutable. But the thought is like a simple algebraic expression that the term “tattoos” could be replaced by “smoking,” “drugs abuse,” “premarital sex,” “abortion,” or even “suicide.” Do we still find them acceptable? We may have the final say, allowed to do anything, but not everything is good for us. “Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. God’s temple is holy, and you are the temple. -1 Corinthians 3:17”. Our body was made to worship and glorify God and fulfill the purpose he created us. When we do things that harm our bodies, we break down the very vessel God wants to use to help accomplish his work in the world. God works through people, which means he must work through our body, not just our spirit, to get things done.
