We sometimes blame; if God sits on the throne and reigns, why does He allow natural disasters and suffering. Interestingly, if we investigate the disasters and sufferings in detail, we may find many of them are man-made. In other words, they are irrelevant to the Lord but result from humankind’s sinful nature. For “the Lord has already told us what is good, and asked us to follow – Micah 6:8.” There is a similar dialogue between humankind and the Lord in the bible. “You cry out, “Why doesn’t the Lord accept my worship?” I’ll tell you why! Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife made when you were young. But you have been unfaithful to her, though she remained your faithful partner, the wife of your marriage covenant. – Malachi 2:14.” It explained to the Israelites that the Lord had not treated them badly. Instead, they have not respected God as their Lord by actions. It is like divorcing their wives and leaving them destitute. Before we blame the Lord for suffering or just unfavorable outcomes, consider how we might be the cause of our problem.
