The peace and joy of ending an entire academic year were tinged with worrying when a teacher noted that the most notorious kid would be in his class in the next academic year. The kid was not just naughty, picked fights with boys and teased girls, played danger in his homeroom, and activated the fire alarm. The teacher decided to give the kid a fine reputation to live up to. On the first day of the new academic year, the teacher greeted the kids in his class one by one with a few positive comments. When it came to the kid, the teacher looked at him straight in the eyes and said: “I understand you are an innate leader. I am going to depend on you to help me make the class the best class in the school.” The teacher even poked fun at him by appointing him the class ambassador of the fire service. “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. – Proverbs 25:11.” “Give a dog a bad name and hang him.” But see what will happen when we give him a good name? People just focused on the bad side of the kid but seldom noted that the kid learned rapidly and mastered the school assignment easily. The kid didn’t let the teacher down. He is now a medical doctor serving in a government hospital.
