I was joyful as I again visited the kids in Surabaya. Every time I see their eager faces and hear their laughter, I am reminded of the incredible power they hold through their genuine smiles. The kids’ innocent perspectives and joy have taught me invaluable lessons about happiness and resilience. “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” the Lord said. Their simple ability to find joy in the smallest moments touches my heart profoundly in a world that often feels complicated and challenging. It’s uplifting to observe how a single smile from the kids can brighten even the gloomiest days. It may be a lesson from the Lord on His wisdom. We are more receptive to His strength when we are weak. When everything goes our way, it’s easy to overlook His hand in our life. However, as He works through our weaknesses, we learn to depend more on Him and recognize and be grateful for the good work He can accomplish in us. “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9.” I look forward to reconnecting with the kids, sharing laughter, and cherishing the moments that remind me of the beauty and strength found in their innocence. In Surabaya, I rediscover the magic of joy, pure and powerful, that only children can impart to those fortunate enough to witness it.
