I know a kid who was once bright and carefree faced her darkest hour when her parents went through a difficult divorce. The once-loving home became a battlefield of raised voices and silent tears. The kid felt like she was caught in the middle, the love and security she had known slipping away. Her once vibrant spirit dulled as she struggled to comprehend the changes around her. The kid found it hard to concentrate at school, and her grades began to suffer. In her heart, she longed for the laughter and warmth that had once filled her home. During this time, the kid found solace in the Bible. “Even in darkness, I cannot hide from you. -Psalm 139:12.” She felt the Lord listened to her fears and dried her tears, shared stories of hope and resilience, reminded her that even in the darkest moments, there is always a glimmer of light. There is no depth to which we can descend where the Lord is not present with us. He has not abandoned us even if we don’t feel his presence. We don’t have to feel trapped in the darkness if we allow the Lord’s comforting light to enter our souls. Slowly, the kid began to find her footing again, embracing the love of the Lord. Through patience and understanding, she emerged from her darkest hour with a renewed sense of empathy, knowing that love and hope can prevail even in the face of hardship.
