We live in a well-developed urban landscape where our kids easily become accustomed to being served. Basic human needs are rarely a daily concern. We are comfortably cocooned by modern conveniences, often forgetting the simplicity of genuine human touches. That is why we must take a moment to reflect on the importance of serving others. The “Neighbor-Watch” initiative has been flourishing. We encourage the kids to engage with diverse human needs effectively. They communicate face-to-face as they engage with others, breaking away from the prevalent reliance on mobile phones. Through these activities, we are transforming our school into a vibrant learning community. While mobile devices serve as gateways to instant information and knowledge, they often lack the depth of wisdom from personal interactions. “Listen as Wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice! On the hilltop along the road, she takes her stand at the crossroads.- Proverbs 8:1-2.” True understanding and empathy flourish in conversations with real people. By fostering interpersonal connections through various local or outbound service-learning activities, we empower our students to become compassionate individuals and informed citizens who appreciate the nuances of human experience and the importance of community. We prepare them to navigate a world that thrives on connection. Only when the “Henri-aspirers” recognize the needs of the world do they discover their true potential and value.
