Complaining often leads us to focus on what we don’t have rather than on what we do have. When we complain, we essentially say that what we have been given is insufficient. This mindset is not only victimizing our well-being but can also be offensive to the Lord. We disregard all the blessings the Lord has already bestowed upon us instead of showing gratitude for them. Anything we have learned from the story of the Israelites in the desert? Despite being freed from slavery in Egypt and witnessing numerous miracles, they still complained about minor stuff like food and water. The complaining not only reflected their lack of gratitude for the blessings they had received but also tested the patience of the Lord. They doubted and tested the Lord’s provision despite the abundance of His blessings. “You must not test the Lord your God as you did when you complained at Massah. -Deuteronomy 6:16.” The verse encourages us to approach our challenges with faith and gratitude, trusting in the Lord’s provision and being thankful for all we have been given. Let us strive to cultivate gratitude, recognizing and appreciating the abundance of blessings surrounding us. Instead of focusing on what we lack, let us celebrate and be thankful for what we have.
