What things attract the junior school kids to believe in Christ? It shouldn’t be a prayer like: “Show me your ways and teach me your path. Psalm 25:4.” For they know well that their path is simply a “year-by-year-promotion.” In the despairing social atmosphere, an adult is more motivated to seek the light on the path and the lamp for feet. When the pastor calls for conversion, the kids may respond to their value of “peer relationship” instead of to God’s love. Church pastors should not think that a stable church life afterward is the proof of their spiritual growth. If the church life is just a bunch of interpersonal relationships, the kid will soon find that the relationships cannot display to them “the way they should go.” In fact, survey data shows that most senior forms young Christians eventually discover that church life is not their “cup of tea”.
