In the Book of Matthew, Jesus used the sowing manner of farmers and the results to discourse how people perceive the Gospel. It is also a thought-provoking parable of people facing change. The farmer scattered the seed; some fell along the path; some fell on rocky places, some fell among thorns, and still, other seeds fell on good soil. －Matthew 13. Facing change may be one of the most feared issues in life. Ironically, our bodies, soul, and minds keep changing every moment. The parable tells us three important reasons that make people unprepared for positive changes. The seed sown along the path refers to people hearing the message without understanding. The evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to people hearing the message with unrealistic expectations. Though listened to, the change lasted only a short time. The seed falling among the thorns refers to people hearing the message with many distractions. In a nutshell, ignorance, unrealistic expectation, and the distractions of other concerns usually make positive changes in a community stuck. Yet, the seed fell on good soil, producing a crop － a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown. In other words, prepare the good soil for ‘crop planting’ and the soft hearts for ‘corp changing.’
