In the globalized era, local cultures are usually impacted by cultures from their outside world. As an international city, the influence is even more obvious in Hong Kong. Being able to face daily challenges with the spirit of “transforming by changing the way of thinking” is, of course, the best way to live with joy and peace in this era. But the Bible reminds us that “transforming by changing the way of thinking” is not aimlessly drifting with the flow. Instead, don’t copy this world’s behavior and customs and let the Lord do the transformation. “Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. – Romans 6:16.” The purpose of the transformation is to learn the Lord’s kindness, purity, and pleasing will on us.
