To celebrate the International School Library Month 2024, our school has had a series of cultural exchanges since last month. In November, our school library was invited by Srednja škola Tina Ujevića to share our culture and reading experiences in virtual space, the following reflections are from our students participating in this meeting:

After experiencing this exchange, I learned a lot about the differences between Croatia and Hong Kong. We shared our regional cultures. For example, our students shared a book illustrated by them. Those stories were about different Chinese folktales. The Croatian students also shared their favorite books. During the meeting, we asked some questions about campus lives, hobbies and things that we were interested in. I learned a lot from my fellows at another corner of the world, this experience broadened my horizon!
I hope to join another exchange in the future!

I joined the meeting with Tin Ujevic High School’s students in November! We shared our favorite books with our neighbour. My classmate, Angela, shared a book illustrated by our school students. Croatian fellows were all surprised and praised it! Participants from Croatia shared their campus life with us, they mentioned they lived in a school dormitory, this is different from our campus life! Also, they study 15 subjects. It’s shocking for me, as my concept of the education system in Europe is more flexible. I feel grateful that Icould attend this meeting, I learned a lot that I’ve never heard before. I hope there will be another global virtual connection with another corner of the world!
